New Video Game, Eighth Era, Rewards Players with NGC-certified US Mint Star Privy Mark Silver Eagles

A new mobile gaming company, Nice Gang (nicegang.com), is collaborating with the US Mint to promote numismatics and bring awareness to a modern generation of collectors. Nice Gang's first video game title, Eighth Era, is rewarding players with physical collectibles, allowing players early access to a first-of-its-kind Star Privy Mark Silver Eagle, which will be the lowest mintage of bullion Silver Eagles in US Mint history.

Numismatic Guaranty Company® (NGC®) was selected to certify the limited-edition Silver Eagles by Nice Gang, and created bold, new Eighth Era custom labels to complement the coins. The labels feature the Eighth Era and Nice Gang logos along with the official United States Mint logo, and some are also hand-signed by Mark Salzberg, one of the world’s most respected and accomplished numismatists, co-founder of the Certified Collectibles Group (of which NGC is part) and now co-founder of Nice Gang.

With decades of combined experience in the entertainment, gaming and collectibles industries, Nice Gang impressed the US Mint with their vision and dedication to numismatics as well as their goal of appealing to a younger generation of collectors. The video game studio's collaboration is only the second time the US Mint has collaborated with a company to promote limited-edition coins. The first was a three-year coin and medal program with DC Comics that was announced earlier this year and will begin in 2025.

Eighth Era is the flagship release from Nice Gang, a free-to-play mobile game featuring more than 90 unique characters. The company's innovative approach to gaming makes it the first and only video game studio to reward players for their in-game efforts with physical collectibles.

Players have the opportunity to win physical coins in a variety of metals and finishes. Following the US Mint partnership, players also get early access to limited-edition Silver Eagles that include the special Star Privy Mark. Plus, a second offering is already in the works: a Silver Eagle with an Eagle-in-flight Privy Mark for Eighth Era players.

The coins have been distributed to a select group of retailers as well as available for sale through in-game play. The coins have been in extremely high demand and have sold very quickly. The coins had a total limited mintage of 500,000 coins, with a certified pedigree added to the first 50,000 coins.
