Bidding for Legend of Zelda Certified by CGC Video Games Surpasses $100,000

The August Heritage sale also features 30 other games from the prestigious Dallas-Fort Worth Collection.

A stunning copy of The Legend of Zelda graded by CGC Video Games and pedigreed to the Dallas-Fort Worth Collection is leading the way in a Heritage Auctions sale. The CGC-certified rarity is just one of 31 Dallas-Fort Worth Collection games being offered in Heritage’s Video Games Signature Auction, which will be held on August 23-24, 2024.

Online bidding for the sealed copy of The Legend of Zelda for the Nintendo Entertainment System (1987) graded CGC 9.2 A and pedigreed to the Dallas-Fort Worth Collection (lot 28014) had already surpassed $100,000 a week before the sale is set to end. A high-grade The Legend of Zelda is already considered a holy grail in video game collections, but this First Production copy of the game is even more elusive. The Dallas-Fort Worth Collection consists of more than 300 classic video games in excellent condition, with many of them still having the original price stickers from the stores they were purchased from — including classics such as Kay Bee Toys, Lionel Kiddie City and more.
