A sealed Clay Fighter: Sculptor’s Cut for the Nintendo 64 (1998) graded CGC 9.4 A++ by CGC Video Games™ realized $175,000 in a recent Heritage Auctions sale, becoming one of the highest-selling CGC-certified video games on the auction platform. It was just one of the several dozen CGC-certified games offered in the Video Games Signature Auction, which ended on November 23, 2024.
After being dissatisfied with the original release of Clay Fighter 63 1/3, the developer Interplay Productions decided to release Sculptor’s Cut as an improved version of the game. The new release became a Blockbuster store exclusive, meaning that sealed copies — especially in such fantastic condition — are exceedingly difficult to obtain. This rare example is now the third highest-selling CGC-certified video game on Heritage Auctions’ platform, following a sealed The Legend of Zelda for the NES that sold for $288,000 on February 24, 2024, and a sealed The Legend of Zelda pedigreed to the Dallas-Fort Worth Collection that sold for $375,000 on August 24, 2024.

Additionally, a sealed Chrono Trigger for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (1995) graded CGC 9.6 A+ (lot 28042) realized $23,750 in the auction. It is the highest-selling CGC-certified copy of Chrono Trigger to sell on Heritage Auctions and the first to realize five figures.
